I like the T/A class, but after watching the RCGT class and hearing the tires squeel on carpet (squeal like a pig) anyways it just looks like fun. 17.5 motor hpi x pattern tires and use a real manufacturers body like a porsche or the skyline no touring body have to check on the rules and regulations maybe i can find something i dont know. _________________ schumacher mi3 |

This is what I found about the class:
Are you a true motor sport enthusiast? Are some of your favorite shows Speed World Challenge, JGTC, American Le Mans, or Best Motoring time attack episodes? Do your ears perk up when you hear things such as Advan Neova's, Rays TE37's, or Mugen or NISMO goodness? Do you dream about driving not just any GT-R, but a Super GT GT500 Spec R35 GT-R? When you go to the Auto Show, do you skip all of Honda's new debuts to run and scope out Peter Cunningham's Realtime Racing Acura TSX?
Now, if any of that sounds like you, or even makes sense to you, then you MUST check out RCGT Challenge (even if none of the above sounds like you, you still have to check this class out, and see the whole other world that exists). The class that unites the R/C touring car lover and the purist motor sport lover. The class where you can get points for adding an intercooler, racing mirrors or an exhaust. Where you run trick, spoked offset wheels with realistic looking HPI X-Pattern tires, and can let your imagination run wild to make your car the most realistic piece of art on the track. Be one of the many to join one of the most realistic and rapidly growing R/C racing classes to date, and let your inner touring car racer be free.
The idea behind the unique RCGT Challenge class is simple, it strives in going back to the true roots of what competitive touring car racing was, and should be all about- awesome, realistic looks, and most importantly, FUN! And on top of all the scale realism that RCGT brings to the table, it is also competitive and accessible to all, due to the fact that it is inexpensive to get into and is suitable for racers of all skill levels, yet it still puts your skills to the ultimate test.
Want to bring the RCGT Challenge to your tack? It's easy! The rules of RCGT are plain, simple, easy to follow, and set up to allow racers to pull out their cars on the shelf or in the closet, and still be plenty competitive. Here is how to get the RCGT Challenge started at your local track:
-Any 1/10th scale 4WD Touring Car chassis.
-Any "realistic/scale" Touring Car/GT body (No "Race" bodies, Stratus, Mazda 6 etc.)
-Bodies should represent models that are running or had been run in the Touring Car, GT2, GT1 classes in ALMS, LeMans, Speed Challenge etc.
-Any 26mm spoked wheels (no dish wheels)
Allowable X-Pattern tire choices are up to the race organizer, with competitiveness and cost in mind:
-HPI #4790 X-Pattern Radial Tire 26mm D-Compound (base spec tire)
-HPI #4490 X-Pattern Radial Tire Pro Compound 26mm (stickier compound for improved traction)
-HPI #4495 X-Pattern Radial Belted Tire Pro Compound 26mm (sticky and belted tire, allows for more speed)
-Kit Lexan wing (flat realistic wing if included) or Plastic realistic wing set(s) only (keeping in mind the spirit of realism of the class)
-27T/17.5 Motor Limit.
-6 cell NiMH or 2 cell LiPo 7.2/7.4v battery limit.
-Suggested minimum weight limit: 1400 grams
Keeping the spirit of the class, scale realism, the final decisions on specs should be decided by each local track/organizer and should reflect the local flavor of the track/racers.

I found some stuff on the RCGT class!!!! This looks like a pretty cool class to me.(especally with VTA changing there rules for next year....I don't want to buy another/different motor just for the class) The TA could easily become a RCGT... just put on a different body (I need one of those for TA anyway...) and some different tires ( need those soon also on the TA) and I am ready to go!!!!
here is a link: http://www.hpiracing.com/news/2009010801/
look around on that site and there are pictures of RCGT races....
also check out rctech... look for RCGT
I agree with Rick.... I think I got a WOOOODDY!!!!!!
Lets start a count for who would rather run VTA or RCGT or Both... We could do VTA in the winter(indoor) and RCGT in the summer(outdoor...if we can get some kind of outdoor thing going this summer, that would be damn awsome by the way...) I am just throwing things out there... _________________ Drive fast take chances!!!!! |

I think about the same thing that you do Rusty. Lets keep running the VTA cars for the rest of the series and then when summer rolls around switch over to RCGT. It is a little faster than VTA and should be "not too slow" for an outside track. We could run RCGT, 13.5 TC, and mod TC if anyone dares to . Of course VTA could be run if people still turn out for it. _________________ SPEED PASSION U.S.A. http://www.speedpassion.net/us/index.asp

Better than that, It will keep it up for a long time and you don't need to see a Doctor. Unless it's Dr. Speed.. _________________ TC-5

Ok guy's, here is my take on the rules(correct me if you need to).
The rules state that any GT-1,GT-2, ALMS, Le Mans or Speed Challenge Body that has ever been run, is Legal in this class.
Now by my recall, all of these bodies have at one time been in one of these races.
* 70 MUSTANG
* 67 CORVETTE
* C-6 CORVETTE
* MERCADES BENZ
* BMW
* AUDI
* PORSCHE 911
* FORD GT
* SALEEN SR-7
* DODGE VIPER
So these are all legal bodies. + some I havn't thought of. (RIGHT)
These are all the bodies I could find oline.
Any comments???  _________________ TC-5
